Colt's first Christmas

Well, after the whirlwind of Chritmas with all the traveling, it is so good to be home! It was so good to spend time with family, but it also nice to be home. We drove to Jackson Christmas Eve after Dave got off work, and then drove back to Spring Hill to do Christmas with my family Christmas night. Then we came home and packed up to go see my family in Jacksonville for a few days. We got home New Years Eve and we have been busy unloading all our gifts and taking down Christmas decorations. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm really sad about it. I have enjoyed spending these last 2 weeks with Colt so much I'll probably cry dropping him off tomorrow. He is so much fun to be around right now and is just growing and changing everyday. I fall more in love with that little boy everday and I am so thankful that the Lord blessed Dave and I with such a precious little angel. Here are some pics from Colt's first Christmas....along with some that I think are just too cute not to post :)

Colt and Santa Claus

Colt went to see Santa last week-he just kept staring at him. This was about the only picture where he wasn't looking up at him.

Halloween and Fall Pics

We went to my parents house after church and decided to take some pics in front of their tree-the leaves look so pretty up here right now:)

SO-Colt was an owl for Halloween this year. It was SO Cute. The costume attached to his wrist, so everytime he would fling his arms around-it looked like he was flying.

He's getting so big and has such a funny personality. He also just rolled over for the first time the other day! He talks ALL the time-I tell people he takes after his Daddy in that regard. Oh-and when he's hungry-you better feed him quick, he gets that from his momma.

STILL ALIVE!!!

It sure is amazing how much he has changed. This is him right around 4 months old.........

So sorry its been so long since I last updated-seems like I don't have any time anymore:) We are all doing great-just settling into a routine. I started my job at AOII a little over a month ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's really nice to get off at 4:15 and be able to spend time with Colt before he goes to bed. He started going to bed around 8:30 now so that gives me time to myself to get some things done. Before, he wouldn't go down until about 9:30-10:00 and by then I was exhausted!

Update!!!

Wow-it's been awhile since I've been able to get on here. Alot has happened in the last few weeks. First off-I quit the daycare about 2 weeks ago, my last day is this coming Tuesday. I loved the kids, but it ended up just being too much for me. Being around 12 toddlers all day wore me out!!!!!!!!! Also, my schedule was so crazy, I never knew when I was going to get off work which was very frustrating as I couldn't make any plans after work. Overall, I really missed being in the "business world" and I was really tired of taking care of other people's kids, when all I wanted was to take care of my own child. I must admit though, it has been great working there the past month because it has allowed me to be close to Colt, and I really have enjoyed getting to know the kids and their parents. Iwill miss them, but I will still see them all because Colt will continue going there for daycare-his teacher Ms. Amy is great! I am going to miss being so close to Colt, but I'm really looking forward to my new job. I am going to be working in Brentwood (which is going to be a much further drive) at Alpha Omicron Pi. It's a sorority whose headquarters is in Brentwood and I'm going to be the Accounting Assistant. It's kind of weird that it's not the same sorority I was in at MTSU, but alot of other women that work there were not in AOPi either. A friend of mine from Sunday School works there and she referred me to the position. I'm so excited about it. They have GREAT benefits and I get my own office with a window (I'm pretty excited about that). My hours there are going to be great as well, I'm going to start off working 8:00-4:15 and after that there's a possibility that I can work from 7:30 to 3:30 which would be great for Colt's hours. Towards the end of my career at LaBella, I started doing alot of accounting stuff and really enjoyed it. I actually told Dave and I would love to find a job like that-so it all worked out.

Colt is doing GREAT!!! He is just so cute - I just love him to death. A friend of mine has a baby about 3 weeks older than Colt and she said he started teething around 13 weeks, which is how old Colt is now. He's already been showing signs of teething so hopefully it wont be too rough on him when they come through. I really can't even believe he's already old enough to be getting teeth! Oh-cute story: Ms. Amy (Colt's teacher) said that she had Colt and Emma (one of the little girls in his class) laying on nthe play mat next to eachother the other day. She said she looked over and Emma reached over and grabbed Colt's hands and they were just laying there holding hands....I guess he's already found himself a little girlfriend. I thought that was really cute.

Dave and I will also be celebrating out 4th wedding anniversary this coming Thursday-I can't believe it's already been 4 years!! Alot sure has changed in those 4 years-for the better:)

New Job and Growing Baby Boy

Colt has grown SO much over the past few weeks. He is really starting to show his personality now and it's just SO cute. He is cooing and smiling all the time now-I could sit and talk to him all day. He also has a temper when he's hungry, just like his momma. He turns bright red and cries and his bottom lip comes out-I must say its pretty cute even though he's mad as anything. He cries so hard sometimes we have to tell him to breathe. He has really grown alot as well, we went to the doctor 2 weeks ago for his 2 month check up and weighted 11 lbs. 15 oz. and was over 23 inches long!!!
This is one of my favorite pictures of him....I don't know if you can tell as well online, but his eyes are SO blue and I love it. When I was pregnant, I always said I wanted him to have blue eyes like his dad-and they are still blue. I hope they stay that way :) I started my new job about two weeks ago, which is why I haven't been able to get on here and blog very much. I am working at the Academy of Heritage Commons which is where Colt goes for daycare. He is doing SO well there and I love his teacher Ms. Amy. There are 4 infants in the class including him - they do the cutest things with them. They do baby yoga, take them on stroller rides outside, do arts and crafts with them, it's so cute. I am working with toddlers - I have anywhere between 8-12 toddlers (1 1/2 years old) in my class depending on the day. I have another teacher in there with me as well which is nice. Starting back to work has been pretty rough on me. The first week was AWFUL - I didn't think I was going to make it. However, last week was much better. The kids in my class are great-if it wasn't for that, I probably would have probably already quit. Plus-its great being able to go see Colt on my lunch break right down the hall. I've been able to feed him his bottle a few times or just hold him which is great. The hours are good as well, I work 7:30am-4:30pm. Somedays I get to leave early as well depending on the ratio of adults to children. Another reason I haven't blogged in awhile is because I have been sick ever since I started there. All the kids in the class have had colds, runny noses, etc. and of course now I have it. I've had it for two weeks now and I can't get rid of it. I can't really take alot of meds either because of breastfeeding. The past few days have been real rough because I think it may be turning into a sinus infection-its weird though because its only the right side of my head that hurts....
This past weekend we went canoeing with our Sunday School class and that was alot of fun. Nannie and Poppy watched Colt so Dave and I could have a day to ourselves and it was very nice-although I missed Colt alot. I hate being away from him on weekends now since I dont get to see him as much during the week now that I'm back at work. The first few days I went back to work, I would come home and just hold him all night til he went to bed. My parents have been a huge help since going back to work as well, Mom came over and cleaned the house for me last Saturday because I was SO exhausted.

Fussy baby!

Colt has been extremely fussy the past few days, not sure what his problem is, but he is still doing GREAT at night, so I can handle the fussiness during the day :) He is 8 weeks old today...WOW! He has another doc appointment on Monday next week where he gets his first round of shots. I'm looking forward to seeing how much he has grown!

I start my new job next Tuesday and I'm very excited about it. I got a job at the daycare where Dave and I were going to send Colt. It's a private daycare that just opened in Spring Hill. It's right down the street from our house, so it will be nice to not have to fight bad traffic on the interstate going to and from work anymore. I will be a floater the month of August, and then starting in September I will be teaching toddlers. I'm hoping this will give me an idea of whether I want to go back to school and finish my teaching degree as well...we will see! Plus, Colt will be right down the hall from me!

As far as Dave's job goes, they still haven't posted for the management position in Brentwood. They are saying since things are so tight right now, they may have another manager in that area manage two branches. We will see!!

Also, anybody have any ideas on how to get Colt to take naps in his crib??? He refuses!!! He will be good and asleep and I put him in there, and within 5 minutes he wakes up screaming! I really want him to get used to it because of daycare and also for when I move him into his nursery!
