I had my first baby shower this past weekend given to me by my Sunday School class. It was so much fun! I got so many neat things - baby showers are so much more fun than wedding showers! Anyway, it was for me and two other girls and we all three are having boys and due within probably 1-2 weeks of eachother. The first picture is a picture of me opening one of my gifts. I got my bumper jumper which is a swing that hangs from the doorway that you sit the baby in and they bounce up and down in. I also got a baby bjorn which from what I heard is a necessity! I got alot of clothes, little toys, the Cherry's got us our car seat and stroller, and my mom got me some cute baskets to fit in the changing table in the nursery to help organize all the stuff along with some crib sheets and other necessary items.
Dave's mom and sister came in town to go to the shower. This is a picture of Ashley, Mrs. Cherry, me and my mom at the shower. Everything was decorated so cute! The girls really went all out with all the decorations, food, and games. One of the girls even made us all diaper cakes and it was adorable! Each diaper cake was decorated differently - mine was a beach theme with an alligator on it since I'm from Florida and am a Gator fan. It's sitting on the hutch in the nursery right now.
This is a picture of the food table - man it was good! At the end of the shower the girls presented each one of us with a photo album. Inside of it, each girl in our class who is already a mother, wrote a page of advice, scripture, or just sayings that they thought would be helpful as we have our first child. I thought that was the sweetest idea! I got alot of good ideas after reading it as well.
My nursery is really coming together and is looking really good. Last time we were in Jackson, the Cherry's gave us a rocking chair for the nursery and it matches perfectly with all the other furniture in the nursery. I put all the baskets in the changing table that mom gave me and started organizing everything and its looking so good! It's really all starting to feel real now - now we just still need a name. I think we are getting close though...........I'll post pictures of the nursery on here in a few days so everyone can see the progress.
